1856, Lettersheet addressed to the Captain of the ship 'Fortuna' (the first ship that carried mail between the Faroes and Shetland after the end of the Royal Trade Monopoly January 1858) to Copenhagen, posted at "LERWICK AU 11 1856" and sent via London, Prussian closed mail and Hamburg, prepaid with "10½" d. incl.4 d. British share, 4 d. (=3½ sgr.) for Belgium and Prussia and 2½ d. Danish share. A very rare and interesting letter and the only recorded at this rate from the Faroe Islands, opinion C.A.
