1 d. orange-vermilion and 2 d. deep-blue, both in fresh colour, used with Souillac cancellation on small piece; both stamps cut-into at most sides and small faults, but still attractive; an extremely rare colour franking of this printing, certificate Brandon (2008), ex Sammlung "Frankfurt"

Labrador Lpool 15/3/99" red manuscript on franked registered cover to Frankfurt with transit- and arrival mark, some later notes, usual wear, scarce, the SS Labrador ran on the Mackenzie Rock, four miles from Skerryvore lighthouse, in the Hebrides, early on the 28th February 1899
