2. Ausgabe 1 R. auf blaugrün im waagerechten Tête-Bêche-Paar, farbfrisch und allseits breitrandig mit Balkenstempel "W" auf örtlich gelaufenem Briefkuvert. Tête-Bêche des Witu-Gebietes sind alle außerordentlich selten, auf Brief haben wir kein weiteres Stück registriert. Einzig bekanntes Tête-Bêche der 1 R., sign. Richter und Lerche sowie handschriftlich Philip Kosack ("nur 1 Stück bekannt 4 Juni 1931"), Fotoattest Bothe BPP (1981) Provenienz: 134. Köhler-Auktion (1981) 2. issue 1 r. on bluish green in horizontal tête-bêche-pair, nice fresh colour and large margins, tied by barred "W" to local envelope. Only few tête-bêche of Witu are recorded, this is the only one we have recorded on entire and the only known tête-bêche-pair of the 1 rupe, signed Richter and Lerche and Philip Kosack in pencil ("only recorded copy June 4 1931"), certificate Bothe BPP (1981)  

4. Ausgabe 2 P. auf gelb und 6 P. auf grau mit Balkenstempel "W" auf örtlich gelaufenem Briefkuvert. Farbfrankaturen dieser Ausgaben sind außerordentlich selten, sehr schönes Stück 4. issue 2 d. on yellow and 5 d. on gray tied by barred "W" to local envelope. Very rare color franking to this issue, very attractive 

6 P. auf grau und 7 P. auf hellblau, beide voll- bis breitrandig mit Balkenstempel "W" auf Briefkuvert von Mkonumbi, senkrechte Faltung außerhalb der Frankatur und Kuvert rechts umgefaltet, eine sehr seltene Farbfrankatur, in dieser Kombination keine weitere registriert, sign. Lerche 6d. on gray and 7d. on light blue, both full to large margins, tied by barred "W" to cover from Mkonumbi; vertical fold not facting the franking, envelope re-folded at right; very scarce color franking of which we have not recorded any further entire, signed Lerche 

3/4 R. auf grün, voll- bis breitrandig mit Balkenstempel "W" auf kpl. kleinen Faltbrief, datiert "Wito 17 August 1880"; sehr schönes und interessantes Stück 3/4 r. on green, full to large margins tied by barreds "W" to small entire folded letter, dated "Wito 17 August 1880", a rare and interesting item 

8 P. auf blau und ¼ R. auf mattorange, beide voll- bis meist breitrandig mit Balkenstempel "W" auf großformatigem Leinenkuvert an Clemens Denhardt mit privatem Eingangsvermerk vom 26.8.1889, übliche Transportspuren durch schweren Inhalt; ein interessanter und sehr seltener Brief, keine weitere derartige Kombination bekannt 8 d. on blue and 1/4 r. on dull orange, both with full to large margins, tied by "W" to large size linen envelope to Clemens Denhardt, docketed 26.8.1889; usual light transportation marks due to heavy contents. Very interesting and rare letter, no further such combination recorded

Diese Ausgabe ist auf Brief außerordentlich selten, neben dieser und der folgenden Einzelfrankatur haben wir nur einen weiteren Brief mit einer Mischfrankatur mit Freimarken registriert. Ein einmaliges Stück Official stamps 1889, 1/2 r. on brown with full to large margins, tied by barred "W" to envelope to Denhardt, docketed 18.7.1889. Very rare single franking of this issue, of which we have only reported the cover in the following lot and one further item (in combination with definitive issue). A unique franking

Es sind nur ganz wenige Mehrfachfrankaturen von Witu bekannt, wir haben nur 2 weitere registriert 9 d. on dark blue, 2 single copies with full to large margins. tied by barred "W" to sealed linen envelope to Clemens Denhardt in Lamu, docketed 7.8.1889. A very multiple franking, we have registered just 2 other multiple frankings of Witu

Abdalla". Einzig bekannter Brief nach außerhalb des Schutzgebietes, sign. Lerche und Richter 1 r. on blue-green, good to large margins, tied by barred "W" to large size envelope to Clemens Denhardt in Sansibar, docketed 26.1.1890, endorsed "Contains one letter each of Sultan Fumo Bakari - Wito and of Abdalla". The only recorded letter from Witu to abroad, signed Lerche and Richter

1885/89, sehr interessante Ausstellungssammlung mit über 370 Marken, ungebraucht sowie gestempelt und mit vielen Briefstücken, beginnend mit zwei Briefen aus Zanzibar addressiert an Denhardt, des Weiteren ein großformatiger Brief frankiert mit DOA Mi.-Nr. VL44 im Paar zusammen mit Mi.-Nr. VL42 nach Berlin, außerdem 2. Ausgabe 5P. schwarz auf rot im ungebrauchten Kehrdruck-Viererblock, 3/4R. schwarz auf hellgrün im senkrechten Kehrdruckpaar sowie ein ungebrauchter Umschlag mit Probeeindruck einer neuen Marke, dazu ein Originalschreiben. Eine in dieser Form sicherlich einmalige Sammlung dessen Großteil aus dem Besitz ehemaliger Experten für dieses Gebiet nämlich Dr. Pril, Lerche und Behrens stammt. Alles sauber auf 8 großformatigen Seiten aufgezogen und beschriftet 1885/89, very interesting exhibition collection with over 370 stamps, unused and used with many stamps on piece, beginning with two letters from Zanzibar addressed to Denhardt, further a large-format letter franked by DOA Mi.No. VL44 in pair together with Mi.-No. VL42 to Berlin, in addition 2nd. Issue 5p. black on red in the unused tête-bêche block of four, 3/4r. black on light green as vertical tête-bêche as well as an unused envelope with printed new design of a new stamp, in addition an original letter. A unique collection, the majority of which comes from the possession of former experts in this field, namely Dr. Pril, Lerche and Behrens.
