An extremely rare usage of this elusive handstamp in the first year of it's introduction and the earliest recorded letter with a Russian handstamp send abroad . 1855, entire letter from Odessa to Constantinople, dated inside "1 Feb (?) 1855)", posted with oval hand stamp "ODESSA" without date and endorsed "Voie de Vienne", due to the naval blockade during the Crimean War, with transit mark "WIEN 21/6" on reverse. On front and reverse rated "18", crossed out on front and changed into a final postage due of "6.30/2.20" piastres. A nice and rare letter. Certificate Hitzler (2016)
