The first Heinrich Koehler auction - also Germany's first general stamp auction - took place in Berlin on 23 April.

1918 · 16TH HEINRICH KOEHLER AUCTION · BERLIN
In the 16th auction on 21 January the fantastic "Reitmeister" collection of classic Germany came up for sale.

1923 · 30TH HEINRICH KOEHLER AUCTION · BRÜNN
The difficult economic conditions in Germany made Heinrich Koehler decide to hold the auction in Brünn instead of Berlin. The 30th auction on 7 August 1923 was followed by four more sales in Czechoslovakia up to mid-1924.

1927 · 50TH HEINRICH KOEHLER AUCTION · BERLIN
On 21 November 1927 the unbelievable "Heinola" collection of Finland is sold – lending without doubt a certain air of nobility to the 50th "jubilee" sale of the Heinrich Koehler auction house.

1928 · 54TH HEINRICH KOEHLER AUCTION · BERLIN
The philatelic event of the year: the unique "Reitmeister” collection of Baden is auctioned on 18 May 1928 by Heinrich Koehler.

1929 · 62ND HEINRICH KOEHLER AUCTION · BERLIN
On 7 October the great Gaston-Nehrlich collection of classic Germany is sold in Berlin.

1940 · 105TH HEINRICH KOEHLER AUCTION · BERLIN
On 27 March 1940 – overshadowed by the Second World War – the auction house of Heinrich Koehler in Berlin sells the fine "Kanzleirat-Metzger" collection with a unique Baden section.

1949 · 124TH HEINRICH KOEHLER AUCTION · WIESBADEN
On 19 May 1949 the 124th Heinrich Koehler auction takes place at the firm's new headquarters in Wiesbaden.

1983 · 239TH HEINRICH KOEHLER AUCTION
The Max-Schaller (Berlin) collection of Prussian postal stationery is sold on 8 June.

1984 · 243RD HEINRICH KOEHLER AUCTION
On 10 October the sale of the Herbert J. Bloch (New York) collection of Prussian postal stationery.

1985 · 245TH HEINRICH KOEHLER AUCTION · WIESBADEN
The first of the legendary Boker sales. The prelude to 18 special auctions in the following years devoted to the unique collection of Old German States. The first auction on 16 March gives an exciting indication of what was to come - the cover with the legendary "Baden error", 9 kreuzer black on green makes a world record price of DM 2.3 million (€ 1.176.000) !

The Postal History Collections "Die Post in Mainz" and "Deutsche Hochinflation 1923" (German High Inflation 1923) came up for sale.

The phantastic collection of Fritz Kirchner "Deutschland 1849-1980" including great rarities of all German areas is offered in three parts in the Hotel "Nassauer Hof" in Wiesbaden. Many pieces reached record prices. Furthermore, this is the first consignment which is offered cross-nationally with Corinphila Auctions in Zurich | Switzerland.

At the occasion of two auctions in Berlin the collection "Berliner Postgeschichte" (Postal History of Berlin) of Peter Koegel is sold. Thus, one of the most important collections of German postwar history was auctioned off.

Important dates for collectors of smaller areas were the auctions where the collections “Deutsche Besetzung Estland im II. Weltkrieg” (German Occupation of Estland during World War II) of Dr. med. Eino Kooba and “Württenberger Fund” – important overseas package cards from the early period of the German Empire of Rolf Rohlfs collection were offered. Some prices reached a record high.

During three spectacular auctions Heinrich Koehler sold the collection „Königreich Sachsen“ (Kingdom of Saxony) which was compiled by Horst and Arnim Knapp over generations – supposedly the most voluminous collection of one single German State.

The collection „Auslandsbriefe der Süddeutschen Staaten“ (Letters abroad of the Southern States), with many international awards, of Dr. Karl Zangerle, who was also a much valued author, came up for sale. Many of the covers that are now part of new collections had not been offered for decades.

Once again high-class material is up for auction: The collection „Thurn & Taxis in Baden“ (Thurn & Taxis in Baden) of Han Vermeulen, as well as part III of the collection of Horst and Arnim Knapp „Königreich Sachsen“ (Kingdom of Saxony)  (as 346th auction).

Those collections are presented in special catalogues, another special feature to highlight  top-collections at Heinrich Koehler auctions.

As the official IPHL@-auctioneer Heinrich Koehler sold a special literature offer: Several libraries, especially the one of Norbert Röhm, who had developed a special passion for the early philatelic literature and in the course of his lifetime gathered one of the largest private libraries.

Avo Kaplanian collection “Palestine Mandate 1917-1948” / The collection of Robert Schuman “EUROPA CEPT” / The collection of Dr. Heinz Jaeger “Meine schönsten Puppen – Klassische Marken mit perfekten Stempeln” (My most beautiful puppets – Classic stamps with perfect cancellations) as well as the 354th auction part I of the collection of Sylvain Wyler “Deutsche Markenbriefe ins Ausland bis 1875” (German franked covers to abroad until 1875).

Among others the following special offer came up for sale: “The Mauritania UPU-Specimen Archive”, the “Charles World Collection” with worldwide material, part II of the collection ‘Niederrhein’ – “Preussen Nummern- und Ortsstempel” (Prussia number and local cancellations). Furthermore the collection ‘Waldersee’ – “Deutsche Post in China und Kiautschou” (German Post in China and Kiautschou).

This year, unfortunately, we much too early lost a special collegue, friend of the house Heinrich Köhler and extraordinary professional philatelist. Thus, it was a special honour for us to sell the collection of Klaus-Peter Rühl “Deutschland – Muster ohne Wert ab 1755” (Germany – Sample without value as of 1755). Also offered in a special catalogue was the collection of John Simon “Altdeutsche Staaten und Deutsches Reich 1849-1874).
