40 c. orange in block of 4, the lower pair slightly toched, otherwise good margins and fresh colour, used by Luxembourg cds., some minor creasing and little thins, one of only 3 used blocks of 4 known of this stamp

"LUXEMBOURG 15 JUIN 66" to Prussian postal stationery envelope 2 sgr. blue to Würzburg in Bavaria with transit and arrival marks; 5 seals on reverse partly removed; most likely the sender wanted to ship the letter registered which was not possible at the Prussian fortress mail, finally he mailed the cover without registration since the Luxemburg post of course could not accept the 2 sgr. as registration fee; a rare and very attractive letter, certificates Demuth BPP (1986) and Van der Linden BPP (1996)
40 c. orange with clear to large margins, tied by cds. "LUXEMBOURG 30 SEPT. 66" to entire letter to France; some hinge remainders on front and letter re-folded, otherwise fine; a scarce franking
